Shaw manufactures their barrels to very tight tolerances, that are more consistent than the tolerances of the forged actions. Because of this it is not uncommon for barrels to have a bit of play in the action. If this is the case simply be sure to tighten the V-Block screws evenly and be sure the extractor groove lines up. Others may be tight and require a light tap to get the barrel seated. Shaw does not recommend the use of hyper-velocity ammunition in their barrels.

At this price point, this barrel can’t be beat!
I purchased this while working on a 10/22 build on a budget. At the price point of Shaw barrels, it’s hard to get a better bang for your buck that these. Installed and free floated this barrel on my new build and zeroed it at 50 yards. At that distance this barrel was giving me consistent 1/4 inch groups. The rest of the rifle is a Kidd bolt and charging handle and a BX trigger. I cannot recommend this barrel enough for shooters at all levels. Very good quality barrel!

Helical 18" Fluted Shaw barrel
I have installed several standard Shaw barrels. They all perform great. I have not installed this one yet, but quality and workmanship are great from initial inspection.
